God’s Wrath = Hell? (God's word on Hell - Click here)

Since we now understand that God has everything to do with our internal condition - heart, soul, mind, and strength, it may be easier to accept that God's wrath may indeed be that desperate anger and disconnect we sense from participation in selfish frustration. God calls us to peace, forgiveness, mercy, love, truth, and justice. If we hold anger within us we participate in spiritual destruction.

James 1:14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Anger often occurs when we do not get what we want. Selfish desires and expectations are not met. Anger is also often used to control or intimidate someone else. The goal is peace and love. There are other ways we can use to get our needs met using Godly character. Humility is a very healthy spiritual tool that can free us from anger. Forgive, not forget, and let go of the anger. We still set boundaries as needed when we are offended to protect our heart, spirit, and conscience.

Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Evil can come from wrath in others. When others are consumed with wrath they can become destructive. When another person is in wrath we ought to seek to help them find peace, safely of course. Discerning is important. If we get caught up in a dispute with a loved one we ought to seek forgiveness, mercy, and peace with God. Then we may become helpful to the other. If we are trapped in our pride, fear, or anger we most likely will only arouse anger in the other person.
