Pettiness Prayer

Keep us, oh God, from pettiness.
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault finding & leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pettiness & meet each other face to face,
without self-pity & without prejudice.
May we always be patient,
never hasty in judgement & always tolerant.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses,
straightforward & unafraid.
Let us take time for all things; make us calm, serene & gentle.
Grant that we may realize it is the little things
in life that create differences,
That in the big things of life we are as one and
may we strive to touch and to know the great common heart of us all.
And oh God, let us not forget to be kind.

Prayer for Courage

Dear God, please grant us courage:
courage to look at our wrongs and correct them,
courage to confess our error and repair damage done,
courage to end dishonesty from our mouths and actions,
courage to speak the truth in all situations,
courage to stand up for others when they cannot stand up for themselves,
courage to seek where we give instead of how we can take,
courage to learn your path and to walk in it more and more,
courage to follow you, God, even when no one else seems to,
courage to wait patiently for your love and peace in solitude and meditation,
courage to make more time seeking you and less time seeking our own will,
courage to ask difficult and uncomfortable questions,
courage to spend more time understanding solutions than problems,
courage to seek humility and to listen for the Holy Spirit within us,
and courage to walk faithfully in obedience to your Love, Truth, Peace, Mercy, Forgiveness, Justice, Generosity, and Compassion in all things.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, harmony;
Where there is error, truth;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Prayer of St. Francis

It's not about being on knees and palms together. It's about request from the heart and a conscious choice of devoting oneself to Godly activity from inside.
