2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. NKJV

This kind of self discipline takes training and regular practice which can be learned over time. Self discipline must be practiced if we are going to change. Are we fans of Christ or followers?

Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. WEB

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. NIV

This site has content geared to gradually develop an understanding of how to align more and more with God's Grace which can save us. Through perseverance and endurance we seek out participation with God's Character each day. We evaluate our inward experience and see how we can adjust our thoughts and attitudes to better align with God's Character.

God is: Love, Truth, Justice, Compassion, Mercy, Forgiveness, Peace, Patience, and Generosity.

Read the Bible instructions, do what it says, then learn and understand it. This site presents Bible instructions on how to grow with God, but effort, diligence, willingness, humility, truth, endurance, patience, and perseverance are required. God's truth does not conform with the world and neither should we.

Actively Progressing into God's truth.
Progress... not perfection.
email ~ Feedback@inwardauthority.com

Read the discipleship packet and share with friends. Seek God's truth, love, & peace.

Share with each other in a group atmosphere to process confusion, listen to different viewpoints, and learn from one another to unify thinking and understanding while being lead by the Spirit. We ought to always guard ourselves against pride, selfishness, fear, dishonesty, and resentment. Such attitudes lead to destruction. Truth, humility, faith, forgiveness, love and peace ought to be the goal.

Are we putting into our minds and hearts everyday how to speak the truth with compassion and love, without partiality, in generosity for peace? Are merciful and forgiving avoiding anger and grudges trusting in God? Do we serve one another in love while being just and holding others accountable?

Titus 3:8 This teaching is true, and I want you to be sure the people understand these things. Then those who believe in God will be careful to use their lives for doing good. These things are good and will help everyone. NCV

2 Corinthians 4:16  That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. NLT

Romans 13 Put on Christ
11 And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is [f]salvation nearer to us than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, and the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. ASV

2 Corinthians 1:6 and whether we be in tribulation, [it is] for your comfort and salvation, that is wrought in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer; whether we are comforted, [it is] for your comfort and salvation; YLT

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: KJV

2 Timothy 3
10 But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, [a]patience, 11 persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of [b]whom thou hast learned them; 15 and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 [c]Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for [d]instruction which is in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work. ASV

Hebrews 2 Do Not Neglect Salvation
2 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? NKJV

God offers us comfort in grace, truth, forgiveness, mercy, peace, patience, love, generosity, compassion, wisdom, and Spirit. Yet we are required to seek, obey, follow, adjust, correct, think, feel, discuss, examine, listen, walk, act, repent, confess, learn, practice, and grow. This is a journey which takes commitment and daily involvement. We all face the difficulties of self-deception and conformity to a very self-seeking society.

1 Thessalonians 5:20 20 do not lightly esteem prophecies; 21 but prove all things, hold fast the right; DARBY

We must not let our pursuit of worldly comforts make our decisions, even the comfort of fitting in with the crowd, and the comfort of our habits. Instead, we ought to seek the comfort of God's truth through the Spirit God gives to those who believe.

Diligence & Effort

Romans 12:11 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; KJV

2 corinthians 8:7 7 But as ye abound in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in [b]your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also ASV

Hebrews 6:11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. NIV

2 Peter 1
And this same also -- all diligence having brought in besides, superadd in your faith the worthiness, and in the worthiness the knowledge, 6 and in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety, 7 and in the piety the brotherly kindness, and in the brotherly kindness the love; 8 for these things being to you and abounding, do make [you] neither inert nor unfruitful in regard to the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ,
9 for he with whom these things are not present is blind, dim-sighted, having become forgetful of the cleansing of his old sins; 10 wherefore, the rather, brethren, be diligent to make stedfast your calling and choice, for these things doing, ye may never stumble, 11 for so, richly shall be superadded to you the entrance into the age-during reign of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. YLT

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

(The above podium teaching is an example of passive learning, the lowest level of learning. And how often are we instructed to teach others with such a low level of understanding?)

Church is good and helpful providing so many excellent things to families and communities. But is it correctly and effectively teaching how to implement the greatest commandment of God. How well Is it building the character of God in it's members with depth, clarity, and efficiency? Do Christians resemble the description in the Bible of how Christians ought to behave? Is the church taking time to ensure its members understand Christian behavior effectively? Are Christians clear on who God is and that we are to serve and obey God?

God's word

1. Read the instructions - love God with all heart, mind, soul, & strength.

2. Follow the instructions - progress, not perfection.

3. After practicing the instructions and gaining understanding from the experiences, we can further our learning by helping others do likewise. We can learn from each other in our journey of teaching and practicing God's grace, goodness, and righteousness.
