We are to engage in and reflect on these Godly principles. In doing so we will participate with God in developing compassion. God is love and to love is to know God.

1 John 4:8 "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

2 Peter 1:8 "For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

We have an inward instructor to listen to, trust, and follow.

Having put to death the old and begun living the new life we gain new experiences  with God. We now seek God's will instead of our own and see our usefulness to others and God affect and change lives of others.

Romans 7:6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
