1 John 1:9-10 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
Here are sins often condoned in our everyday church. The solution exists in honest evaluation of our own actions, not avoiding uncomfortable truth. Sin exists and God desires confession and repentance instead of excuses and justification. We are also to avoid blaming and shaming. Rebuking in love and gentleness is the goal. When sin crops up we can simply identify it and bring it to light. We can forgive, have mercy, and demonstrate compassion letting God's grace work through us as participate in his principles. However, if someone refuses to see the truth growth may be stunted.
