Teaching worship without examining the sin of idolatry is condoning the sin. We ought to gently rebuke and admonishing it with care and boldness. Letting someone persist in false flattery without attempts to change is to passively encourage destruction. As with everything, our attitude in correcting and encouragement ought to be done with love, patience, truth, sincerity, and compassion. Our active faith ought to be increasing which consequently reduces our idolatry.
1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
Ezekiel 14:4 Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry.

Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Pride is about self-worship and God is against it
Deuteronomy 8:14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
