Fear God - The bulk of the message using fear has to do with respect and reverence for God

Hebrew - old testament definition: to fear, respect, revere, to be in awe

Greek - New Testament: Used in two ways by two different greek words

1. Godly respect, reverence http://biblehub.com/greek/2317.htm

2. terror, alarm, http://biblehub.com/greek/5401.htm

When we are serving, following, obeying, seeking, and doing God's will from our hearts with love and compassion, then we can fear God with respect and reverence.

When we are serving ourselves, going through motions, pleasing man, trying to fit in with the world and see how far away we are from God, then the fear of terror and alarm can be experienced. This also can be sensed as emptiness, loneliness, shame, hate, and anguish.

We can seek God out of deep pain or we can seek God out of deep admiration. Then there are those who can become trained at not thinking about it nor addressing their inner spiritual truth. Such masters of distractions from the truth can spend most of their time running from inner workings of the spirit denying themselves the opportunity of deep affection and peace. Anxiety often times will rule them with a constant urge to seek things outside of themselves with the belief it will make them happy. There is only one true joy God created for us to experience and that is to fully embrace God's love, mercy, and peace. This has everything to do with inward evaluation, adjustment, and conditioning. Our time and humble effort toward Godly connection and alignment of our inner selves with Godly character can bring more prosperity and fulfillment of desires than anything the world has to offer us. Yet we must choose to do it a hundred times a day.
